The Art of Quiting World of Warcraft
Another one bites the dust or should I say, all good things come to an end? After almost 5 years of roaming through Azeroth, I have finally logged out for the final time. I have no ill will towards the game for it let me explore a world that was vast and ever changing. I met countless friends and very interesting people during my venture in the largest MMORG in history. I really never thought I would quit. Take a break here and there but never really quit. The lure of the game is incredible. Correction, the lure of the social aspect of the game is incredible.
The game itself had been watered down to the casual gamer but it was never the game itself that held me. My guild members became friends that went beyond quests and raids. Granted, spending hours and hours with someone kinda forces you to get personal at some point also. I still keep in touch with past guildies that have taken the path that I take now. As the months and years go by, the game is seldom mention in letters and conversation. It is more about the life outside of the game now.
I have moved on to other time consuming games. Mainly Madden 10 and hope to pick up Fallout 3 Game of the Year edition. By the way, although they have increased Ricky Williams stats up with the last update, it should still be a bit more. He isn’t that old and still can run.
